C&D Advertising is home to an exceptional workplace culture, employees love to work there, and clients love to work with them. Workplace culture is most basically defined (by Forbes) as “the shared values, belief systems, attitudes, and the set of assumptions that people in a workplace share.” Creating a workplace where employees love to be will boost productivity and efficiency internally as well as success externally.
Walking into the office at C&D on a Monday morning doesn’t greet you with exhausted employees and low morale. Instead, you can expect a jittery and chatty team ready to dive into the week ahead. Smiles and laughter fill the room during the weekly Monday morning meeting. Team members share their “highs” and “lows” from the weekend, the team discusses a chapter in the book that they are all reading, and they plan their schedules. Upon dismissal, the team heads to their collaborative workspace.
Team members aren’t thrown into cubicles for an 8-hour workday. Instead, they all share one large collaborative “office.” Each member has their desk that they personalize to their liking. This room will never be quiet, with laughs and creative collaboration to serious consultations. The team room is a room for high efficiency and productivity that is induced from a low-stress environment.
Each member is met with respect and trust from their coworkers, as well as their ‘superiors.’ There is no true hierarchy present, instead, each member fits into the workflow and it is understood that their contribution is just as important as the next. Each member is given flexibility in their schedule and their personal life is proven to be a priority for management. This exceptional workplace culture is one of the many factors that allowed C&D to be named one of the Best Places to Work in 2021 by CNY Small Business Journal.
